REVEREND KEITH D. DICKENS
REVEREND KEITH D. DICKENS is the eldest of three children to the late Betty Jean (Lingo) Dickens. Born
and raised in Bridgeton, New Jersey. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science/Public Administration from
Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana (1986). He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Palmer
Theological Seminary of Eastern University in St. Davids , Pennsylvania (2011). Reverend Dickens is also affiliated with
numerous educational, civic, fraternal and social organizations including Grambling State University National Alumni
Association, NAACP, National Association of College Admissions Counselors, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Deeply committed to family life and the unity of the family, Reverend Dickens served as President of the National Lowe
Family Reunion from 2002 to 2012 (www.lowereunion.com).
His spiritual journey has been life long. He was brought up in the church and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at age
12. He joined St. Augustine A.M.E. Zion Church in Bridgeton, New Jersey, under the late Reverend Alfred S. Parker.
Reverend Dickens was later mentored by the late Reverend Dr. William B. Cowherd, Sr., where he served on various
ministries including the Junior Ushers, Sunday School, and Youth Choir, and later served on the Trustee Ministry. In
1990, he joined the Christ Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church in Sicklerville, New Jersey, under the leadership of
Reverend Dr. Robert F. Hargrove, Sr., where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon (Vice-Chair), and Associate
On April 7, 2005, Reverend Dickens accepted the call on his life to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ; and on July 17,
2005, he preached his initial sermon, “The Cost to Follow Jesus—Luke 5:1-11,” and was licensed by Dr. Hargrove. In
2009, being led by the Holy Spirit, Reverend Dickens joined Calvary Baptist Church in Chester, Pennsylvania, under
the leadership of Reverend Dr. Bayard S. Taylor, Jr., where he served until 2015 as Associate Minister/Outreach Pastor,
following in the long line of great preachers who have served at the historic Calvary Baptist Church that have included
J. Pius Barbour; Samuel D. Proctor;. Martin Luther King, Jr.;. William Augustus Jones; J. Wendell Mapson, Jr.;
Harold A. Carter; Charles Booth; Amos C. Brown and Wallace C. Smith. Reverend Dickens is currently serving as Senior Pastor of Parkside United Methodist Church in Camden, New Jersey.
A gifted preacher and teacher, Reverend Dickens’ life assignment is to advance God’s Kingdom in the earth through
servant leadership that inspires and empowers people to take the initial or next step of faith. He considers himself a
critical lover of the church and views both evangelism and social justice as the mission of the church. He is an advocate
for the poor and those who are disenfranchised.
Professionally, he is employed with Rowan University as Assistant Director of Admissions. Reverend Dickens is blessed to share his ministry with his lovely wife and college sweetheart, Aquanetta Lynn (formerly of Chicago, Illinois). They reside in Williamstown, New Jersey with their beautiful daughter, Imani Nicole. Imani is
currently attending Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. In his spare time, heloves reading, listening to music, traveling, collecting Art/Sports Memorabiliaand supporting his alma mater, Grambling State University.
Reverend Dickens’ life verses are “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV); “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28 (NKJV). Reverend Dickens is ordained by God through the Calvary Baptist Church Chester, Pennsylvania, and the American Baptist Churches USA/ Philadelphia Baptist Association (2012).
